General Rules of Conduct

  • Sportsmanship Rule: Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. This will result in suspension of one year and one day.
  • The use of alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs is not permitted in the pit area at any time. Any driver or pitman under the influence of either will disqualify that tractor and driver and will be escorted from the pit area by the Burnett County Sheriff. Drivers are reminded that they are responsible for the conduct of all their pit people. (Including Minors)
  • Registration entry fee for all classes is $25 (includes truck and driver)
  • Each truck pull entry fee paid will admit one person to the pit the day of the pull. If a driver has entered more than one truck, one person will be admitted no charge for each paid entry received.
  • Any entrants under the age of 18 must provide a notarized release and valid picture ID of parent or guardian that is assuming all liability and responsibility of minor at the signing of the waiver

General Rules

  1. Contestants must pull at assigned position within 3 minutes of time the sled is ready. Judges may move a contestant to the last position due to mechanical trouble.
  2. Automatic disqualification for anything falling off truck during pull.
  3. No use of alcoholic beverages allowed before or during the truck pull.
  4. All trucks must have working brakes.
  5. No dual wheels allowed, except in Diesel classes. May not use tire chains or studded tires.
  6. All pulls must start with a tight hitch. No jerking of sled.  Two consecutive attempts to start the sled will be allowed.
  7. The first puller in each class will have the option to pull over. This decision must be made by the driver immediately after their pull, before unhooking.
  8. Truck must stop immediately upon signal from the judges.
  9. Pull will terminate if truck runs out of bounds.
  10. Contest will be governed by the judges with all decisions final. ANY harassment of the judges for fair board members, by a contestant, will result in banning that contestant for 1 year.
  11. Must have 3 entries in class to pay first place.
  12. Must have 5 entries to pay through 3rd

Street Stock

  1. Must have a current registration, license plates and insurance card.
  2. Headlights and taillights must be in working order.
  3. Stock is stock – no exceptions.
  4. Trucks must have four wheel working brakes.
  5. Tires must be DOT approved. Siping allowed.  No grooving, grinding, sharpening ore removal of rubber allowed.
  6. Must pull from factory bumper or class 3 style hitch (minimum 3 ¾” opening for hook. Hitch height not to exceed 24”).  No fabricated hitches.
  7. No blocking of suspension (must have workable suspension). Airbags must not be disconnected.
  8. Must be factory stock fuel system. All fuel system and engine components must match the year of the truck.
  9. Trucks must have legal exhaust system for driving on the street.
  10. A maximum of 92 octane fuel or flex fuel compatible vehicles may run E85.
  11. All weights must be in box only, no weight out front, no hidden weights. No exceptions.
  12. Stock class trucks are not allowed to jump classes.

Improved Stock

  1. Motor must match pickup make.
  2. Any 4150 carb and aluminum dual plane intake allowed no air gap style. Factory EFI system allowed.  Big blocks must run OEM cast iron heads.  Aluminum heads are allowed on trucks that were factory equipped with aluminum heads.  No aftermarket, GM Performance or Ford SVO type heads allowed.  Motor must match pickup make.
  3. Vehicle must have front and rear bumper. May run weight bar.
  4. No solid or blocked suspension or ladder bars. Must be on springs.  Lift kits allowed.  Must use stock frame and running gear.  No blocked suspension or tie downs or clamping of springs allowed.  Spring shackles must not be restricted in any manner.  This includes welding the spring shackles or any other method of restricting them.  Spring shackles must be in the original position as intended by the manufacturer.
  5. The hitch cannot extend forward or braced forward of the center of the rear axle. All hitches must mount under the top frame rail.  Hitch length 36% of wheelbase.  Hitch height not to exceed 26”.  Hitch must not exceed a maximum of 25 degree angle from pivot point to hook point.
  6. No class jumping allowed.
  7. Big blocks limited to 480 cubic inches with OEM exhaust manifolds. The truck must retain full factory interior, driveline and the rest of the factory components except factory gas tank.
    1. An exception to this rule is if vehicle was originally equipped with a GM 8.1 liter, Dodge 8.0 liter engine or any truck that is manufactured with an engine greater than 480 cubic inches will be allowed.
  8. Vehicles exhaust must exit behind the cab with muffler(s) and have a 3” diameter max. Dual exhaust is allowed.
  9. Vehicle must have DOT approved tires, no larger than 33 inch. Siping allowed.  No grooving, grinding, sharpening or removal of rubber allowed.

Modified

  1. Must have all safety equipment such as drive shaft loops, U-joints enclosed and three 1” loops in between the U-joint loops, driveshaft between transmission and transfer case must be completely enclosed, working kill switch, reverse light, engine side shields if the factory fender liners are removed (NTPA specs: 0.060 thick aluminum that is securely mounted to the frame and extends above the spark plug), explosion proof bell housing or scatter blanket and fire extinguisher.
  2. Must have a front and rear window.
  3. Must have a non DOT approved tire. Can be cut or sharpened (altered).
  4. All headers must not point toward the ground in any manner. Upright headers are highly encouraged.
  5. Must have fire suit (jacket and pants) and Helmet.
  6. Cubic inch limit of 650.
  7. Hitch length 30% of wheelbase, hitch height not to exceed 26 inches. Hitch must not exceed a maximum of 25 degree angle from pivot point to hook point.

Stock Diesel

This class is designed for your everyday Factory stock truck.  With the exemption of aftermarket tuning.

  1. Ballast: No hanging of front weights is allowed.  No weights in cab.  Must be placed in the box.
  2. Body: The body must be the OEM from factory
  3. Driveline: An OEM transmission, transfer case and drive axles only.  Stock style suspension only.  Lift kits allowed.  No traction bars.
  4. Fuel: Factory OEM.  The fuel must be pump #1/#2 or Soy/Bio-diesel.  Fuel must be commercially available.  OEM fuel tank must be used.  No propane, NOS or water injection.  No after-market lift pumps.
  5. Hitch: The hitch must be a factory receiver-style hitch.  75” hitch hole must be exposed at rear of vehicle.  Final decision of legality of all hitches resides with the head tech official.  Minimum of 44 inches from center of rear axle back.  Maximum of 24” hitch height.
  6. Tires: The tires must be DOT street tires.
  7. Tech Inspection: During tech inspection driver must comply with all tech requests.  Tech official has final say.
  8. ALL GENERAL RULES APPLY.

 

 

Improved Diesel

  1. Ballast: No hanging of front weights is allowed.  No weights in the cab.  Must be placed in the box.  Aftermarket front bumpers allowed, any homemade bumpers will be at the discretion of tech officials.
  2. Batteries: Batteries must be in stock location.
  3. Body: The body must be the OEM truck body, including the full bed floor.  Complete interior and all working components.  Fiberglass hoods and roll pans are permitted.  All fiberglass hoods must be shielded on the underneath side with sheet metal or aluminum skin in a minimum of 0.060 thick.  A factory installed pickup bed or commercial style aftermarket bed must be installed.
  4. Chassis: The OEM chassis is mandatory.  4-wheel factory working brakes.  OEM suspension.  NO AIR BAGS OR AIR SHOCKS OR BLOCKING OF SUSPENSION.
  5. Cooling System: Radiators must be in the stock location and be of at least stock size.  Electric cooling fans are permitted.
  6. Driveline: An OEM transmission, transfer case and drive axles only.  Stock style suspension only.  Lift kits allowed.  Rear traction bars allowed, must have a loop on the bar.
  7. Exhaust: The exhaust must exit rearward of the driver’s compartment.  No hood stacks.
  8. Fuel: Limited to a single factory high pressure pump.  The fuel must be pump #1/#2 diesel or Soy/Bio-diesel.  Fuel must be commercially available.  OEM fuel tank must be used.  No propane, NOS or water injection.
  9. Hitch: The hitch must be a factory receiver-style hitch.  75” hitch hole must be exposed at rear of vehicle.  Final decision of legality of all hitches resides with the head tech official.  Minimum of 44 inches from center of rear axle back.  Maximum of 26” hitch height.
  10. Intercoolers: Only air to air intercoolers are allowed.
  11. Kill Switches: An electronic shut down that must kill power to electric fuel pumps.  Must be mounted within 12 inches and above the pulling hitch.  Switches will be tested.  Air shut off is recommended.
  12. Safety Equipment: All drivers must wear a helmet.  Must carry a fire extinguisher in driver’s compartment.  Full loops and shields recommended.
  13. Tires: The tires must be DOT street tires.  Siping allowed.  35” maximum height.  Factory dually trucks only.  No bold on duals allowed.  No cutting, grooving or grinding allowed.
  14. Turbo Charger: Single stock appearing turbo of 68mm or less in stock location.  E.(No 2nd gen swaps)  Turbos must use the stock pedestal, no special adaptors or T-4 flanges.  No S300 or S400 turbos.  No smooth bore turbos.  6.4 Ford Powerstroke is the only vehicle allowed factory twin turbos.
  15. Tech Inspection: During tech inspection driver must comply with all tech requests.  Tech official has final say.

Open Diesel

  1. Weight of 8000# or less.
  2. Single or Twin turbo chargers allowed.
  3. If running single turbo, it can be any size.
  4. If running twin turbo chargers, the primary turbo must not be greater than 3.0”.
  5. Must have all safety equipment.
  6. Must have kill switch, electric or air.
  7. Must have all U-joints shielded.
  8. Fire jacket and pants if the cab has been cut out in any way. Jeans required if no cab modifications.
  9. Leather boots or SFI shoes.
  10. Helmet must be worn.
  11. Fire extinguisher within reach of driver.
  12. Exhaust must point up.
  13. Water injection allowed.
  14. Maximum of 35” tire.
  15. Engine from one tone or less truck.
  16. 26” Hitch height.
